Millsboro Art League to host Spring Art Competition

The Millsboro Art League (MAL) has released a call for artists for its Spring Art Competition & Show, to be held March 2-28 in the MAL gallery at 203 Main Street in Millsboro.

The competition is unrestricted and will include artwork in watercolor, acrylic, oil, sculpture, printmaking, drawing, pastels and textiles. Artists must declare their judging category as “professional” or “emerging” when submitting an application, and prizes will be awarded in each category by an independent judge. For an application and specific instructions, go to A limit of two pieces per entrant and fees of $25 for MAL members or $40 for non-members are required.

As many as 80 entries will be accepted and displayed in MAL’s gallery through March 28. Awards will be given at a public reception to be held on Saturday, March 8, from 2 to 4 p.m.

“This exhibit is a wonderful opportunity to view and support the work of many talented artists in the Millsboro area and beyond. The wide range of media accepted for this show is another attraction to visit MAL’s gallery, which is open Friday and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 3 p.m.,” representative said.
