Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty recently announced its top Realtors for 2012. Receiving honors were Kim Hamer as the company’s overall top producer for the year, followed by Jenn and Brian Barrows, Matt Brittingham, Mariya and Dustin Oldfather, and Paul Maltaghati.

Kim Hamer is a native Delawarean and has been a Realtor in Sussex County since 1998. A member of the Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty Sales Team for the past nine years, Hamer closed 43 property transactions in 2012, logging more than $20 million in sales volume. She brings marketing and customer service experience to the Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty sales team as a result of her 13-year position in corporate banking with MBNA America.
“Helping buyers find and purchase their dream home is extremely rewarding. I also love helping sellers make their homes stand out with the Sotheby’s marketing materials, professional photography, and virtual tours,” stated Hamer.
Personally, Hamer has deep local roots — her husband, Jeff, has owned local restaurants since 1991 and currently owns Fins Fish House & Raw Bar and Claws Seafood House of Rehoboth. Both Fins and Claws are downtown Rehoboth landmarks and involved in community organizations. They donate time and goods to a variety of different organizations, including Worcester Preparatory School, the Children’s Beach House Art Show, Lewes Senior Center and Dewey Beach Lions Club.
“We have met so many great people, both visitors and locals, through real estate and the restaurants,” says Hamer. “It’s really fun to recommend Fins and Claws to my real estate clients, where a lot of times they end up meeting Jeff. To us, our clients are like an extended family.”
Jenn and Brian Barrows of Barrows & Associates have more than 20 years of collective experience as Realtors and have been with Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty since September 2008.

In 2012, the Barrowses successfully completed 46 transactions equating to more than $16 million in volume. In addition to their top five sales ranking, both Jenn and Brian Barrows volunteer their time and efforts at Rehoboth Elementary, where their sons attend school, as part of the Art Docent program and parent classroom aides.

Matt Brittingham, a native of Sussex County, is a full-time Associate Broker at OA Sotheby’s, operating primarily out its Lewes offices. Upon graduating from Old Dominion University in Virginia, Brittingham moved back to his home state and has since built upon his knowledge of the local real estate market. Brittingham successfully participated in 44 real estate transactions in 2012, reporting close to $13 million in sales volume.

Representatives said Dustin and Mariya Oldfather have carved a name for themselves in the competitive Southern Delaware real estate market by delivering consistent results for homebuyers and sellers and providing superior customer service.

Dustin Oldfather’s background includes training at the Florida naval base, and he earned his degree in molecular biology and nuclear physics. Mariya Oldfather obtained her degree in accounting from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria. Last year was a busy year for the duo, as they participated in close to 50 real estate transactions and expanded their team of five real estate professionals at the Oldfather Group of OA Sotheby’s.
Paul Maltaghati hails from New York City and began visiting the beach area in 1997. After witnessing the rise in the market, he bought his first investment property in 2001 and said he was bitten by the real estate bug. Eventually, he was drawn to the coastal lifestyle of Delaware and decided to make Rehoboth his home.
A fulltime Realtor at OA Sotheby’s since 2004, Maltaghati completed 22 real estate transactions in 2012 valued at more than $9.2 million. With a degree in horticulture, Maltaghati was the proud owner of a flower shop in midtown Manhattan for 25 years. He has served Fortune 500 companies, scores of celebrities and high-profile personalities, offering personalized customer care.
