In a letter dated Sept. 20, 2012, Charles D. Ellison, Jr. VP of Miller & Smith, the developers of Millville by the Sea, wrote to the town manager and mayor that they "will not be pursuing the implementation of the Special Development District (SDD) for Millville by the Sea at this time." After coming before the town in July regarding the SDD tax and hearing plenty of opposition from Millville by the Sea residents, they had been on the Sept. 25 town council workshop agenda to present a revised proposal. They have subsequently asked to be deleted from the Sept. 25 agenda. The town council still has termination of the original resolution designating Millville by the Sea a SDD on its Oct. 9 town council agenda for possible action. Look for complete coverage in the Sept. 27 issue of the Coastal Point.
