ResortQuest Real Estate, with offices throughout southeastern Sussex County, announced this week that Anne Powell has earned her Associate Broker license.
Powell was awarded the license after successfully completing 99 hours of course work as outlined by the Delaware Real Estate Commission and the National Association of Realtors.
The course covered residential and commercial transactions, landlord/lease relationships, and Delaware and national real estate laws and regulations. Also, Powell had to meet the criteria of having worked for at least five continuous years in real estate and having at least 30 sales transactions during that time.
“Anne is a top producer with the company and is an innovative and progressive worker,” said Ann K. Baker, the firm’s broker of record. “She approaches each transaction expecting to be successful and therefore has achieved a consistent flow of listings and sales in a very difficult market, to the delight of her customers who she keeps first in her focus. To earn her Broker’s license shows her commitment to the industry and a real drive to always improve and learn.”
Originally from South Orange, N.J., Powell has lived throughout the Unites States and in Europe and moved to the Delaware resort area in the 1980s. Powell has a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in education - both from the University of Delaware.
Powell has also professional experience that includes positions as financial manager for American Express; instructor/advisor and curriculum developer at Delaware Tech; and as a researcher at the University of Delaware. Powell is also a graduate from a Fortune 100 management program.
Located at ResortQuest’s Route 54/West Fenwick office, Powell is licensed in both Delaware and Maryland and specializes in the listings and sales of residential resort properties, including the communities of Bayside, Bear Trap and Sea Colony. Powell has closed 100 percent of her short-sale listings with no additional fees to buyer or seller for those services.
Powell started her real estate career in 2006 and formed a team with Jennifer Hughes in the fall of 2006. By partnering, Powell and Hughes combine their to give their clients 24/7 service and a combined performance that has earned them consistent monthly and yearly top producer awards.
“From day one, Jen and I decided to put our clients first in all we do professionally,” Powell said. “For us, it truly is about our clients, their goals, and their success. If we take care of our clients and they are happy - our business will grow – and it has! We have fun, enjoy good challenges – we are competitive and goal driven – and we are flexible.”
Powell is a member of the Sussex County Association of Realtors, the Delaware Association of Realtors, the Coastal Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors. Powell also holds the following designations: Resort & Second Home Property Specialist; Green; and Women Council of Realtors.
