Troop 4 commander recognized for contributions
On April 9, Capt. Sean E. Moriarty of the Delaware State Police, Troop 4, was honored for his role in providing leadership, commitment and dedication for the safety of the community with a plaque presented to him by the Millsboro Seventh-Day Adventist (SDA) Church’s Sabbath School superintendents, Mildred Polk, Sharon Johnson and Murli Cooper.
“Sean is a 17-year veteran of the Division of State Police who truly believes in their motto of ‘service above self’ and is a positive role model as the commanding officer at Troop 4,” said Pecita Lonewolf of Millsboro SDA Church.
“Maj. Charles J. Simpson with the Delaware State Police headquarters says, ‘Sean can always be trusted to do the job right the first time, and he always has the best interest of the citizens at heart in any and all circumstances.’”
Moriarty brought to the recognition ceremony with him a friend, George Camacho, who is the community liaison for Sussex County.
The Millsboro SDA Church holds two special days each year to recognize outstanding work performed by citizens in the community. The next guest day is Saturday, Nov. 12.
