Delaware State Police on Monday, Sept. 27, were asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in the robbery of the PNC Bank inside the Giant grocery store in Millville.
Police said the suspect – described as a white man, about 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 170 to 180 pounds, and wearing blue jeans and a red hooded jacket – entered the grocery store about 11:30 a.m., walked to the PNC counter and waited in line. Once it became the suspect’s turn, police said, he walked to the counter and displayed a demand note. The suspect demanded cash and also implied he had a gun, they said.
According to police, the clerk handed the suspect an undisclosed amount of money, after which the suspect exited the store. No one was injured during the robbery, they noted.
