Delaware Department of Transportation officials announced Friday, Oct. 16, that the open house and site tour planned for the Indian River Inlet Bridge project on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m., was being postponed until a future date that would be announced.
DelDOT and Skanska USA Civil Southeast Inc. (Skanska) announced that, due to heavy rain and winds, which were considered likely to cause severe coastal flooding, the "Open House" for the Indian River Inlet Bridge project was being postponed.
"Given that the area frequently floods during such weather events, which would prevent safe travel of the trolley performing site tours, the decision was made to postpone the outdoor event to a future date," they said.
