Alma J. Crump, 88, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family. She was an export documentation clerk for the film department of the DuPont Co. in Wilmington, Del., retiring after 30 years of service. She was a longtime member of the Reformed Episcopal Church and she enjoyed genealogy, reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She was a two time survivor of breast cancer.
Crump was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and May (Longhurst) Johnson; her husband, the Rev. Robert G. Crump; her sister, Elsie Goebel; and a grandson, James Alan Unruh. She is survived by two daughters, Emily Blanchard of Georgetown, Del., and Roberta “Bobbie” Unruh and her husband, Alan, of Georgetown; four grandchildren, Kay Rabe and her husband, Tim, of Wilmington, Robert Knox and his wife, Virginia, of Middletown, Del., Deborah Miller and her husband, Paul, of Hockessin, Del.., and Daniel Unruh and his wife, Melissa, of Dumfries, Va.; as well as seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was scheduled for Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, with interment in Silverbrook Cemetery, 3300 Lancaster Pike, Wilmington, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Long Neck U.M. Church, 32051 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966.
