Nilton D. “Mac” McIntyre, 77, of Frankford, Del., formerly of Clinton, Md., and Estero, Fla., passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, surrounded by his loving family. He was a Local Union #368 painter, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved gardening and fishing and was a great “handyman” who could fix anything.
McIntyre was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Vera (Wolf) McIntyre; his son, Curtis Edward McIntyre; and four brothers, Guy, Curtis, Paul and John. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Joyce Ann (Ward) McInatyre; a son, Gary Douglas McIntyre and his wife, Tracy Jean, of Mankato, Minn.; a daughter, Vicki Ann Snyder and her husband, the Rev. Dr. Dennis Snyder, of Spring Lake, Mich.; three sisters, Harriett Way, Charlotte Campbell Raith and Ruth Sutlovitch; five grandchildren, Lance Cpl. Josh Snyder, currently serving his country with the U.S. Marines, Abi Jo Kerner and her husband, Andrew, Megan Kelly Miller, Mollie Marie McIntyre and Maggie Agnes McIntyre.
A memorial service was scheduled for Monday, Jan. 12, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
