Charles “Harrison” Megee Jr., 66, of Pittsville, Md., passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at his home. He was employed as a truck driver for Sharp Energy/Tri-County Gas for a number of years. For the last six years, he owned and operated Megee Trucking. He volunteered frequently at the Holly Center in Salisbury, Md., and was a member of the Laurel American Legion. Most noted for his willingness to lend a helping hand, he enjoyed time with his friends through NASCAR, fishing and sporting clays.
Megee was preceded in death by his father, Charles Harrison Megee Sr. He is survived by his loving companion of 12 years, Pattie Tingle of Pittsville; his mother, Madelyn Elizabeth Megee of Ocean View, Del.; a son, Keith A. Megee of Ocean View; a daughter, Kelly Stone and her husband, Michael, of Bridgeville, Del.; and a grandson, Tyler Cannon, also of Bridgeville.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008, at St. George’s Cemetery, Clarksville, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the HCI, P.O. Box 1489, Salisbury, MD 21802; or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
