Clear Space Productions has announced a second round of auditions for the ensemble cast of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” This is an opportunity to join in professional-level performance starring established and emerging actors.
Much of the ensemble has been cast in the first rounds of auditions, but there are still more than half a dozen openings for both men and women with experience singing and dancing on stage. Scheduling conflicts with other area theater and chorale groups prompted several potential performers to request this additional audition time.
The auditions will be held Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Cape Henlopen High School 9th Grade Campus, formerly known as the Lewes Middle School, 820 Savannah Road, in Lewes.
Auditioners should be ready to sing a Rodgers and Hammerstein song. The musical director will be present with all of the necessary music, but auditioners may bring their own if they prefer. A movement audition will follow the vocal audition, so dress to dance. Approximately 10 men and women of the ensemble, ages 16 to 60, remain to be cast. Some lead roles will also be cast from the audition.
Rehearsals will be held Saturdays, 10 am. to 2 p.m. beginning April 23. Performances are scheduled for July 20 at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center and July 21-23 at Bear Trap Dunes in Ocean View.
This production is funded by the Carl M. Freeman Foundation.
