Rotary helping with food

During the week of April 2-9, Southern Sussex Rotary is sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Community Food Pantry.

The Community Food Pantry provides basic food items to those who are unable to purchase enough food to get through the end of the month. It helps about 80 families per month, many of whom would have to forego utilities or prescription medications in order to get food.

Collection bags will be distributed throughout the community on Saturday, April 2, and picked up on Saturday, April 9. Also on April 9, there will be a table outside Hocker’s Super Center where shoppers who wish to purchase an extra item and donate it on their way out may do so. During that week, you can also drop off any items you may wish to donate at the Beachview Chiropractic Center, next to the Food Lion in Millville; Selbyville Pet and Garden Center on Rt. 113 in Selbyville; and Salem United Methodist Church on West Church Street in Selbyville. Your local church will also accept donations. All non-perishable items are welcome including pasta, canned fruits, soups, vegetables, cereal, peanut butter and jelly, tuna and basic baking products.

Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation may do so by sending a check to: Community Food Pantry, P.O. Box 876, Selbyville, DE 19975.
