Due to damage received in Tuesday's storm, the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce building is temporarily closed through at least Monday, July 25.
Chamber Executive Director Carrie Subity said the building was struck by lightning late Tuesday and while they had power, their phone system, computers and air conditioning unit all have to be repaired.
"We had to temporarily close," she explained, adding that because of the excessive heat warning for the next few days, they wanted their employees to be safe.
While it is an inconvenience to not have the visitor's center open, they did provide information for anyone that should stop by.
"We have a box outside of state maps, visitor's guides, and a fun things to do brochure," she explained. "We apologize for any inconvenience but the building will be closed until the systems are up and running."
Subity estimated that it will be mid-next week before the air conditioning unit can be repaired.
