Robert Perry ‘Bob’ McClellan of Selbyville, Del.

With heavy hearts and deep regret, the family of Robert Perry “Bob” McClellan of Selbyville, Del., announced his passing away on Friday, June 22, 2018, after a valiant struggle with heart disease.

Born in Wilson, N.Y., he was the son of William “Leslie” McClellan and Opal McClellan. He was an accountant and worked for numerous companies during his extensive career.

He and his family lived in Harford County, Md., for many years, both in Joppa and later in Abingdon. He and his wife, Donna, were living in Selbyville, Del., closer to the ocean where he spent many enjoyable hours fishing offshore.

McClellan squeezed every moment of life into living. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, wood worker, gourmet cook (especially known for his homemade rolls and Christmas cookies) and a former hunter. His zest for life, upbeat personality and contagious laugh endeared him to family members and countless friends.

McClellan is survived by his loving wife, Donna; two sons of whom he was so proud, Eric J. McClellan and his treasured wife, Jacqueline, of Olathe, Kan., and Peter D. McClellan and his loving partner, Rebecca Flaherty, of Pittsville, Md.; sister, Patricia Stojak and husband, Jim, of Lewiston, N.Y.; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his brother, William “Bill” McClellan of Lockport, N.Y.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for Saturday, July 14, 2018, at noon at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home, 19 S. Main Street, Selbyville, Del. A second service is scheduled in August in Wilson, N.Y., at the Fillmore Chapel, where he was christened many years ago.
