Joseph R. “Joe” Lafollette, 73, of Georgetown, Del., formerly of Wilmington, Del., passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home.
He was born in Wilmington on Oct. 19, 1944, and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Lafollette retired from the Army in 1983, when he was a certified air traffic controller.
After his retirement from the military, he served as the bartender for the West End Rod & Gun Club in Wilmington for years. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating, shooting pool and going to the casino.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Kahn, and three brothers, Edward Kahn, Patrick Kahn and Frederick Kahn. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Ann L. Seidel; two sons, Eugene LaBelle of Middletown, Del., and Paul LaBelle and his significant other, Michelle, of Wilmington; five grandsons, Christopher, Camryn, Austin, Mark and Aiden; two sisters, Trina Hottes and her husband, Ronald, of Georgetown and Irene Swiderski and her longtime companion, Patrick, of Milton, Del., and a host of nieces and nephews.
