Joseph L. “Joe” LeDoux, 76, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Point Pleasant Borough, N.J., passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at his home. He was born in Brainard, Minn., on Feb. 15, 1942, son of the late Wilfred LeDoux and Rose (Smith) LeDoux.
LeDoux proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, for which he received the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a truck driver for Canada Dry in Neptune, N.J., for 39 years before retiring and moving to Delaware.
He was a diehard Minnesota Vikings fan and a member of American Legion Post 28 in Millsboro, Del. He enjoyed playing hockey and was a talented goalie in his younger years. He also enjoyed completing crossword puzzles and was an amazing cook. He will be remembered for his quick wit, great sense of humor and his loving devotion to his family.
In addition to his parents, LeDoux was preceded in death by a brother, Art. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara M. (Kinon) LeDoux; five children, Joseph LeDoux Jr. of Bayville, N.J., Craig LeDoux and his wife, Tracey, of Lewes, Del., Denise LeDoux of Bayville, N.J., Todd LeDoux, also of Bayville, and Troy LeDoux of Bradley Beach, N.J.; three brothers, Jim, Dave and Richard; a sister, Gail; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A prayer service was to be held July 13, 2018, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, followed by interment at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
