Antoinette Kasparian, 82, of Bethany Beach, Del., formerly of Rockville, Md., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at her home, on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018. She was born in Cairo, Egypt, on June 12, 1936, and immigrated to the United States in 1970.
Kasparian graduated from the American University of Cairo and spoke five languages fluently. She worked for the City of Rockville, Md., for 24 years before her retirement in 1989. She and her beloved husband had owned their beach house since 1978 and then moved permanently to Bethany in 1990.
She will be remembered for her involvement in the Armenian Community, her devotion to the Catholic Church, her respect for the military and her love for her family.
Kasparian was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond Kasparian; a daughter, Caroline Kasparian; and four siblings. She is survived by two daughters, Marianne Kasparian and her husband, Casey Kucera, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Marie Estes and her husband, Trevor, of Virginia Beach, Va.; five grandchildren, Lucas Kucera, and Hunter, Bella, Jordan and Delaney Estes; and two sisters, Georgette Bedewi and Jeannette Matossian.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, Del., where friends and family may call after 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del.
