Letter — DDSC picnic a hit, thanks to many

This year’s 32nd annual Labor Day picnic at the John West Park in Ocean View hosted by Delaware Deaf Senior Citizens (DDSC) drew a new record of 125 attendees from all of Delmarva and beyond.

On behalf of the members of the picnic’s planning committee I’d like to thank the many area businesses who generously donated gift certificates and items for our fundraising auction during the picnic.

The DDSC members truly appreciate this community’s support and look forward to the International Week of the Deaf events we are hosting from Sept. 23 through 28. These events, including a reception and sign-language classes at the South Coastal Library, and a documentary movie about deaf history at the Clayton Theatre, will be listed in the Coastal Point’s Calendar section.
