June B. Powell, 88, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. She was born in Dagsboro, daughter of the late William Baker and Ruth (Donoway) Baker.
She had been an assistant librarian with the Indian River School District and member of the teaching staff at Epworth Christian School. She attended Wilson United Methodist Church in Bishopville, Md.
Powell was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Powell, in 2005. She is survived by three sons, Jack L. Powell of Haleiwa, Hawaii, Frank W. Powell and his wife, Kim, of Millsboro, Del., and Jeffrey N. Powell and his wife, Cheryl, of Denton, Md.; a brother, Gerald “Bill” Baker and his wife, Judy, of Dagsboro; eight grandchildren, Aaron, Billy, Leigh, John, Gene, Scott, Zachary and his wife, Chelsea, and Jacob; a great-grandchild, Owen; and close family friends Ches and June Hudson, and Judy Baker.
A funeral service was to be held Sept. 4, 2018, at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville, Del., with the Rev. Dean Perdue officiating.
