Wendy Cherniski, 50, of Harbeson, Del., passed away, surrounded by friends and family, on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018. She was born in Chester Heights, Pa., daughter of Rosemary Cybak of Harbeson, Del., and Robert Cherniski of Chester, Pa.
Cherniski moved to Claymont, Del., when she was 4 and graduated from Claymont High School in 1987. She had many accomplishments, including working for a local attorney’s office in Wilmington, Del., for Pepsi for several years and for the Wilmington News Journal.
Cherniski enjoyed painting and creating pictures. Every summer she enjoyed going camping with her family in New Jersey and Delaware. She also had an extreme talent with inside gardening and created an extensive plant room containing many exotic plants that were nurtured from young plants.
Cherniski is survived by her mother, Rosemary Marsilii Cybak; her father, Robert Cherniski, and stepmother, Susan Cherniski; a brother, Paul Cherniski and his wife, Nicole; her nephew, Eric Cherniski; her stepfather, Roman Cybak; five step-siblings; and her longtime companion, Dustin Sutton.
The family thanked Delaware Hospice for their excellent care, especially her nurse, Betsy Poe, and her CNA, Patsy Cahall, and offered a special thank-you to her private-duty 24-hour LPN and caregiver, Daniel Hawkes.
