David Lawrence Whear, 79, of Selbyville, Del., died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at home. He was born in Medford, Mass., son of the late Roger Whear and Beatrice (Moran) Whear.
He retired from work as a salesman with Pohanka in Salisbury, Md., and was a member of St. Martins in the Field Episcopal Church in Selbyville, Del., and a former member of the Rotary Club.
Whear is survived by his wife, Marie C. Whear; a son, Michael A. Whear and his wife, Gail, of Odenton, Md.; a daughter, Pamela L. Whear of Selbyville; a brother, Roger Whear Jr. of Salem, Mass.; a sister, Alice Terrill of The Villages, Fla.; three grandchildren, Julene Williamson and her husband, Mark, Jillian Abbott and her husband, Trevor, and Adam Whear and his wife, Hayley; and four great-grandchildren, Baylie Williamson, Caroline Williamson, Brooklynn Abbott and Easton Whear.
A memorial service was to be held Sept. 10, 2018, at St. Martin’s in the Field Episcopal Church in Selbyville, Del.
