Letters — Rae gives info on Vote411, elections

Do you know about VOTE411.com?

This is an excellent, non-partisan, politically neutral, website to inform the public of the candidates running for election with a side-by-side comparison of their positions. It has been created by the League of Women Voters.

It was available in time for the Delaware Sept. 6 primary and will now be a very useful tool for the Nov. 6 general election. The League deserves a very big thank-you! It is a most helpful guide.

I found it easy to use. I entered my address and the party I am affiliated with. It gave me a sample ballot, told me which candidates were on my ballot and their positions on key issues, presented in their own words. I will now be able to use it again for the general election.

As a volunteer for the Sussex County Democratic Party, I would like to report that our party is alive and thriving here in Sussex. I attend a monthly First Wednesday meeting at 7 p.m. at the South Coastal Library. I made numerous phone calls (for the first time in my life) to encourage people to vote in the primary and will be reaching out again for the general election.

I proudly participated in the Women’s March in D.C. and am excited to report that this year, there are two strong women candidates for Sussex County Council, Ellen Magee and Paulette Rappa, on the ballot for Nov. 6.

Your right to vote is the most powerful tool you have as a citizen.  I urge you to register to vote and then do so. And check out VOTE411.org  to make informed decisions when you “exercise your right” to vote.
