George A. Humes, 81, of Selbyville, Del., died Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Md. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., son of the late George A. Humes and Winifred (Callahan) Humes.
Humes served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s University. He had been an accountant for many years and was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Humes was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Humes; a brother, Joseph Humes; and a sister-in-law, Sidney Humes. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Edward Humes, Eugene Humes and his wife, Rosalie, Raymond Humes and his wife, Anne, Sue Turner and her husband, Richard, Eleanor Cariola and William Humes; a sister-in-law, Helen Humes; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro, Del., on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was to be held Sept. 21, 2018, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Ocean City, Md., with the Rev.
