Robert N. “Rob” Karpin, 56, of Georgetown, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at his home. He was born in Chichester, Pa., on Jan. 2, 1962.
Karpin graduated from Chichester High School, in the Class of 1980. After graduating from high school, he then went to Cumby Trade School in Philadelphia, Pa. He owned and operated Karpin Construction for more than 20 years.
He was also a volunteer with Relay for Life in Sussex County and the Cancer Support Community of Delaware. Karpin was a Philadelphia sports fan who enjoyed watching and attending the Philadelphia Eagles football and Philadelphia Flyers hockey games. He was also an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed trout fishing, hunting and breeding pheasants. Karpin will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his devotion to his family.
Karpin was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ann (Kaminski) Kulakowski-Howell. Karpin is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Pam M. (Herflicker) Karpin; four children, Robert J. Karpin and his fiancée, Christina Mendez, of Milton, Del., Patrick P. Karpin of Millsboro, Del., Emily A. Edick and her husband, Craig, of Georgetown, and Jonathon Karpin of Georgetown; his father, Robert J. Karpin of Morton, Pa.; five sisters, Donna Kulakowski and her husband, Val, of Boothwyn, Pa., Lori Matthews and her husband, Ted, of Havertown, Pa., Bonnie Aube and her husband, Joe, of Middletown, Del., Kimberly Howell of Baltimore, Md., and Holly Howell of Millsboro, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was to be held Sept. 24, 2018, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro, Del. Interment was to be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to the Cancer Support Community of Delaware for Sussex County; 18947 John J.
