Barbara Lee Carmean, 70, of Laurel, Del., passed away on Monday, Sept. 24, 2018. She was born in Lewes, Del., on Feb. 14, 1948, to the late John Layton and Ruth Chandler Layton.
Carmean worked as a machine operator for Arrow Safety and also worked for Frank Smith Nursery. She had attended Lord Baltimore School in Ocean View, Del. She was a single mother, and her son, Mark, meant everything to her. Hobbies included sewing, canning, cooking and eating the seafood Mark caught. She also had a heart for stray dogs.
In addition to her parents, Carmean was also preceded in death by a brother, David Moore. She is survived by her son, Mark Carmean of Laurel, Del.; a sister, Jeannie Millman and her husband, Stanley; a brother, Wayne Moore and his wife, Barb; a special nephew, Christopher Dyer and his wife, Abigail, and their two daughters, Danilyn and Emma; and her canine friend Diamond.
