Linda L. Simcox, 60, of Millsboro, Del., formerly of Delaware County, Pa., passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Heartland Hospice House in Wilmington, Del. She was born in Chester, Pa., on July 10, 1958, daughter of the late James Oborn Leighton and Irene Patricia (Broughton) Leighton.
Simcox graduated from Marple Newtown Senior High School, in the Class of 1976.
Simcox and her companion, Larry Lockerman, owned and operated L&L Retro, which originally was in Dewey Beach, Del., now currently operating in Long Neck, Del. She was a talented tie-dyer and was part of the Local Ladies of Long Neck Social Group.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring woman who always put others first. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and would have done anything for her girls.
Simcox is survived by the love of her life, Larry Lockerman; two daughters, Tanya Howe and her husband, Richard, of Reading, Pa., and Crystal Leighton and her fiancé, Andrew Duncan, of Albany, N.Y.; a granddaughter, Skylar Irene Howe; a brother, James Leighton of Georgetown, Del.; a sister, Cynthia Stinger of Dagsboro, Del.; a niece, Samantha Leighton of Dagsboro; three nephews, Artie Martin of Newark, Del., Tommy Blackiston of Dagsboro and Jesse Stinger of Dagsboro; great-nephews Trevor Oborn Hudson and Robert Patrick Martin; a great-niece, Juliana Claire Martin, and her canine companion, Tye.
A celebration of Simcox’s life will be held Oct. 18, 2018, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services in Millsboro, Del. Interment will follow at White’s Chapel Cemetery in Milton, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
