Robert Bryan “Bob” Dye, 69, of West Fenwick, Del., passed away on Oct. 27, 2018. He was born Feb. 3, 1949, in Tulia, Swisher County, Texas.
After graduating in 1973 from Newton Junior College’s Nursing Program in Newtonville, Mass., he worked as a Registered Nurse at Mass. General and at Mass. Eye and Ear. After moving to Baltimore in 1975, he worked at Johns Hopkins and at the Wilmer Eye Clinic.
He and his husband moved to Delaware in 1994. At that point, Dye switched to occupational health nursing and worked at Perdue Farms and then Mountaire Farms.
His knowledge of history, cultures and food was astonishing. In his spare time, he loved to cook and entertain. Dye loved animals, especially his Shepherd mixes and greyhounds he shared with his husband. He will be remembered for his awesome parties, great meals and his kindness.
Dye leaves behind his husband, Edward Fowler, with whom he was with for 33 years; his brother, Kenny Dye; his sister, Lynda Johnson; two nieces, two great-nephews and a great-niece; and the large extended Fowler family.
It was his wish to be cremated and for there to be no service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society or to Hospice.
