Richard Lee Hudson, 69, of Gumboro, Del., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2018. He was born on May 4, 1949, to the late Preston L. and Madelyn Phillips Hudson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Preston Lee Hudson Jr.
He worked as a carpenter and a feed mill operator. Hudson enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading the newspaper, especially the Delaware State News and the Daily Times. He enjoyed having fun and hanging out with the guys. Hudson also liked watching football, baseball and horse racing. Everyone loved him, even though he could be stubborn and ornery at times.
Hudson is survived by two sisters, Janice Perdue and her husband, James, and Joyce Brittingham and her husband, Gary, all of Gumboro, Del.: a nephew, J.R. Perdue and his wife, Beth; niece, Nicole Oliphant and her husband, D.J.; great-nieces and -nephews, Madelyn Baum, Brooke Brittingham, Nicholas Brittingham, Dylan Perdue, Caleb Perdue and Joseph Tracy; and a great-great niece, Savannah Brittingham.
A funeral service was held Oct. 28, 2018, at the Watson Funeral Home, with burial at the Millsboro Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del.
