For married couples-to-be who are in need of a perfect venue at which to say, “I do,” or still looking for that perfect buttercream cake or a photographer to capture one of the most important days of their life, Delaware Seaside Bride magazine has partnered with Barefoot Beach Bride to host a bridal show at one of Delaware’s newest venues — Smokey Hollow.
The bridal show will be Sunday, Nov. 11, from noon to 3 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Brides-to-be may attend for free with the purchase of two tickets.
“Couples should plan at least one year in advance,” recommended Jodie Noonan, owner of Barefoot Beach Bride, who also manages Smokey Hollow. “We are finding now that, even though there are a lot of venues in the area, couples are looking at a year and a half, some even two years out.”
Located near Selbyville, just a few miles from the beach, Smokey Hollow’s barn venue boasts 4,900 square feet of space, with crystal chandeliers, and brick and wood accents, and can accommodate from 288 seated guests to 600 guests.
“The venue itself has a timeless interior that allows you to create a wedding or event, whether its country rustic, bohemian chic or classic elegant,” said Noonan. “What makes this venue so unique is the property. It sits on 100 acres of pristine private property surrounded by trees and a pond.
“It does have a private cottage available for your wedding night or wedding weekend. Also, if you’re looking for a larger estate to host your wedding weekend, the home itself is also available.”
More than 30 vendors will be attending the Nov. 11 show, including Taste Events; Bear Trap Dunes; La Vida Hospitality; Vittles Catering & Food Truck; Bethany Blues; Cakes By Dee; Sweet Disposition; Simply Sweets Cakes & Cupcakes; Eventfully Yours; A Sweet Affair Events; All About U Salon & Spa; Eastern Shore Makeup; The Shady Sun Tanning Co.; Peninsula Plastic Surgery; Johane Urlita Artistry & Photography; Shine By the Sea Creative Hair Design; Sam Ellis Photography; The City Florist; C.M. Baker Photography; Sandals Bridal & Formal Wear; A.R. White Photography; Sweet Stems Flower Shop; Oasis Travel; Double Treble; Cruise Planners; and DJ Twitch.
“We’re really excited to have such high-caliber vendors participating,” said Maria Counts, editor of Delaware Seaside Bride magazine. “We have amazing wedding professionals across the peninsula. I’m so excited we’ll be able to showcase them at the Nov. 11 show.”
The latest bridal trends will be on display during a fashion show hosted by Downtown Bridal.
“Whatever you may need for your wedding, we’ll have it at the show,” said Counts. “We hope couples will be able to come check out Smokey Hollow, sample some tasty eats, and get a few pictures in the Shasta Shutterbug!”
Couples who attend will also have the opportunity to tour the property, try foods and win prizes.
“We’re hoping for a successful bridal show, with brides touring the property and finding vendors to help plan every detail of their wedding,” said Noonan.
