Edward E. “Ed” Buck, 76, of Fruitland, Md., died on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Lewes, Del., the son of Mary and John Buck.
In his high school years, he was a standout football player for Lewes High School.
Buck worked for Delmarva Power for 37 years, holding many positions, but most proudly that of systems operator. His friends at Delmarva Power respected his integrity and faithfulness. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and skeet shooting; was an avid amateur radio operator, always trying to perfect his code; and was a proud member of his Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, Buck was preceded in death by a son, M. Daniel Buck. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 57 years, Michelle Micke Buck; his son and best friend, Robert Edward Buck and his wife, Loraine; and three grandchildren, Jordan Daniel, Emily and Douglas.
A celebration of Buck’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 312 E. Main Street, Fruitland, Md. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
