Nicholas T. Pucci, 59, of Frankford, Del., passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Del. He was born in Wilmington, Del., on Aug. 5, 1959, son of the late Louis Pucci and Olga (DiSabatino) Pucci. He graduated from Indian River High School, in the Class of 1978.
At the time of his death, Pucci was employed at Bunting & Murray Construction, with more than 30 years of service.
He was an avid sports fan and an enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles fan. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Ocean View, Del.; a charter member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge 2542 in Roxana, Del.; and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, Del.
He was a past member of the Elks, the Jaycees, the Northside Park Men’s Softball League in Ocean City, Md., and the Selbyville (Del.) Men’s Modified Softball Team. Pucci was also involved in his son’s and grandsons’ sports endeavors, as he would never miss a game and also volunteered with the Indian River High School Football and Baseball Boosters.
Pucci is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mary A. (Gray) Pucci; two children, Jason Pucci and his wife, Kate, of Frankford, and Melissa Showalter of Selbyville; five grandchildren, Cory, Jordan, Nicholas, Christopher and Kaden; two brothers, Francis Pucci and his companion, Terri, and Ralph Resine and his wife, Toni, all of Wilmington, Del.; and a sister, Carla Paoletti, and her husband, Paul, of Wilmington.
A prayer service will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018, at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del., where friends may call after 10 a.m. The family encouraged guests to dress casually and wear their favorite team jersey. Interment will follow at St. George’s Cemetery, Clarksville, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
