SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, recently donated $4,000 to Primeros Pasos, an early-childhood learning center in Georgetown.
“We are happy to support Primeros Pasos because of the work they do with children who come from low-income households,” said Scott Kammerer, founder of SoDel Cares and president of SoDel Concepts, which has 10 restaurants in coastal Sussex County. “The programs help prepare children for elementary school, which is the foundation for academic success. It’s a culturally rich, diverse environment.”
SoDel Cares was established to continue the philanthropic endeavors of founder Matt Haley, who was a longstanding board member of Primeros Pasos. The school’s enrollment has significantly increased, and, thanks to the support of the local community, it now has a new 4,500-square-foot facility to educate and assist children from ages 12 weeks to 12 years.
