Agenda — Nov. 30, 2018

Bethany Beach

• The Bethany Beach Cultural & Historical Affairs Committee will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. at town hall. The agenda for the meeting includes: setting dates for March/April cultural evenings; a report regarding the Coastal Towns Committee meeting on Nov. 26; an update on Dinker-Irvin Cottage renovations; and committee input regarding text for the Dinker/Irvin Museum.

• Bethany Beach Town Hall will be closed Dec. 24-25 for Christmas.

• Bethany Beach’s Streetscape project resumed on S. Atlantic Avenue and Cedarwood Street on Oct. 1, beginning the final phase of a project intended to provide a safe pathway for pedestrians and cyclists on the streets. The project will also involve some work on Ashwood Street designed to improve drainage in the area.

The project includes new porous blacktop roadway surfaces (to aid with drainage) and pedestrian/cyclists pathways on Cedarwood Street and the remaining unimproved portion of S. Atlantic Avenue between Parkwood Street and Garfield Parkway.

The project may last as long as 10 weeks, and there will be brief periods where one or more streets may be closed in their entirety to vehicular traffic. When that occurs, residents will still be able to access a property on foot, but it may be necessary to park on adjacent streets until the closed road is reopened.

• Bethany Beach’s pay-to-park season ended Sept. 15 and will return on May 15, 2019.

• Prohibitions on dogs on the beach and boardwalk in Bethany Beach ended Sept. 30. They will resume on May 15, 2019.
