More than 100 members of the Sussex Tech Raven Nation Marching Band were set to march and perform in the Peach Bowl Festival Parade and other events this week in Atlanta.
The band was scheduled to perform at the College Football Hall of Fame and in the Peach Bowl Field Show performance in Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Dec. 27, and marching in the Peach Bowl Festival Parade on Dec. 29.
Under the direction of Ian Kenney, the Raven Nation Marching Band has previously performed across the country at events including at halftime of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, in New York City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade and at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.
“We are honored and excited to perform for a national audience in Atlanta and showcase the best band in Delaware,” Kenney said. “The talent and dedication of this band is unparalleled. They have put their heart and soul into preparing for this parade, and will make Delaware proud.”
Local students participating include: sophomore Nina Fike and junior Lauren Porter, both of Dagsboro; sophomore Julia Buoni; senior Sarah Buoni, senior Cierra Cathell, sophomore Dillan Coffin, sophomore Skylar Cole, sophomore Kaylyn Cordrey, sophomore Cyrus Fox, sophomore Olivia Hudson, freshman Benjamin Justice, junior Celina Lombardi, junior Kyle Morris, sophomore Michael Morroni, sophomore Zachary Snell, and freshman Jacob Youse, all of Millsboro; sophomore Luanna Fajardo, freshman Kaitlyn Vogel and junior Madison Vogel, all of Ocean View; and junior Abigail Hurley and freshman Sharon Montero-Garrido, both of Selbyville.
