Paul N. Mitchell, 82, of Laurel, Del., passed away at home, in the care of his family, on Dec. 29, 2018. He was born on Dec. 15, 1936, to the late Norman I. Mitchell and Minnie Ethel Phillips Mitchell in Gumboro, Del.
He married his beloved wife, Barbara Ann Littleton, on Aug. 20, 1955, and together they brought forth four children, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren in 63 years of marriage. He worked as a carpenter, truck driver and farmer. He raced stock cars and was a fan of racing. Mitchell loved camping with his family, and his hobbies included restoring old Ford tractors and golf carts. He was very devoted to his family.
Mitchell is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, Greg, Guy and his wife, Marlene, Beverly, and Bonnie and her husband, Keith; his grandchildren, Shelly Robinson and her husband, Jimmy, Scott Mitchell and his wife, Stephanie, Stacey Long and her husband, Matt, Taylor Burroughs and her husband, Robbie, Kyle Tubbs and his wife, Tricia, Carly Collins and Colby Collins; his great-grandchildren, Brandon Mitchell, Jimjim Robinson and MacKenzie Long; and his beloved little dog, Peanut.
A funeral service and celebration of Mitchell’s life were to be held Jan. 6, 2019, with the Rev. Elizabeth Smack officiating. Interment was to follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro, Del.
