The Millville Volunteer Fire Company will host its inaugural Outdoorsman Marketplace on Jan. 12, to help raise money for a new fire hall.
The “outdoorsman” show will take place inside the fire hall, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, featuring vendors related to hunting, fishing, boating, RVs, cooking, photography and more, as well as crafters of “nautical” items. Organizers noted that all vendors/businesses will have quality inventory to purchase, and the event is not a flea market.
The entry fee for the public will be $3, to raise money for a new fire hall. Children 14 or younger will be admitted free of charge and will receive a kid’s door-prize ticket. Paying attendees will receive a door-prize ticket. Winners need not be present to win door prizes or raffle items. Winners will be contacted via text message by a firehall representative.
There will also be a “Chinese” auction, a 50/50 and a gun raffle. Raffle and door prize items are being donated by vendors and sponsors, as well as several businesses in the community.
Breakfast and lunch will be prepared by the BBVFC Ladies Auxiliary, and beer will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Those participating in the gun raffles will have to pass a background check to participate. (Those who know they can’t own a gun should not try to win one.) The guns are being donated by G&E Hardware and have to be picked up from there the day after the event (Sunday, Jan. 13). There will be no cash equivalent. Chances are nontransferable.
Guns will be raffled with a deck of cards per gun — 54 cards in the deck (jokers included), at $20 per card for most guns, while some guns will be at $10 per card.
All monies raised will benefit the Millville Volunteer Fire Company.
