Nature enthusiasts from all over will descend on our region for the 2019 Winter Delmarva Birding Weekend. From Friday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Jan. 27, bird enthusiasts will take in the natural wonders we have to share in the winter.
“Most folks have no idea how spectacular the winter birding is down here,” said event co-organizer Jim Rapp. “The sheer number of bald eagles and ducks is mind-boggling.”
Not to be outdone, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce is presenting the Fire & Ice Festival in Bethany Beach from Friday, Jan. 25, through Sunday, Jan. 27.
The Southern Delaware Tourism Ice Rink will open Friday morning, and a beach bonfire will kick off at 5 p.m. that evening.
