Leonard “Doc” Romansoff, 78, of Frankford passed away Jan. 7, 2019. He was born in Yonkers, N.Y., on Aug.1, 1940. He had practiced as a chiropractor for 40 years.
Romansoff went to Yonkers New York Grade School and Hackley School in Tarrytown, N.Y. He attended the Chiropractic Institute of New York, graduating in 1963 with a doctorate in chiropractics, and was licensed to practice in the State of New York in June 1965. He practiced in Yonkers, Hastings and Mahopac, N.Y., until his retirement in 2005, at which time he retired to Frankford.
Romansoff was preceded in death by his father, Leo Romansoff and mother, Ann Romansoff, and his uncle, the Rev. Emil Masich. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Romansoff; his sister, Doreen Cesa of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; his nieces, Jennifer Cesa of New York, N.Y., Jessica Cesa-Mont of Bedford, Nova Scotia; a nephew, Christopher Cesa of East Northport, N.Y.; two cousins, the Rev. Michael Nolan of Cleveland, Tenn., and Nancy Nolan.
He was a regular parishioner at St. Ann’s and Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic churches, and before moving to Delaware, a regular parishioner at St. Nicholas of Myra Byzantine Catholic Church in Yonkers, NY. He was a lover of nature; and enjoyed hunting, gardening, his Corvette, freshwater fishing and working outdoors until sunset. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and a member of the Beachcombers of Southern Delaware.
A Mass of Christian Burial was planned for Jan. 14, 2019, at Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 35318 Church Road, Frankford. Interment was to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Delaware Hospice Milford or St. Nicholas of Myra, White Plains, N.Y.
