Scott Edward Salley, 40, of Ocean Pines, Md., formerly of Pipersville, Pa., passed away peacefully, with his parents by his side, on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He was born in Langhorne, Pa., on Nov. 18, 1978, to Scott George Salley and Susan Patricia (Baumeister) Salley.
Salley was a graduate of Central Bucks High School West, in the Class of 1997. He had worked for Harris Teeter Food Market for the last 12 years, where he was the produce manager of the Long Neck store. He enjoyed traveling, especially going on Carnival cruises.
Salley was a car enthusiast and an avid sports fan who enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49ers, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Villanova Wildcats. He loved Ocean City, Md., the beach, boating, and clamming with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the casinos, playing poker and roulette.
He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, friend and dedicated employee.
Salley is survived by his parents, Scott and Susan Salley of Selbyville, Del.; two sisters, Kristin King and her husband, Eric, of Quakertown, Pa., and Cheryl Spier and her husband, Andrew, of Annville, Pa.; five nephews, Iain Spier, Brady King, Cole Spier, Liam King and Patrick King; his rescue dog, Bo; and a host of wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and great friends.
A visitation will start at 11 a.m., with a prayer service at 1 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, Del. The family requested casual attire, as Salley would want to celebrate his special life. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggested memorial contributions to the Richard A. Henson Cancer Institute; 11105 Cathage Rd.; Ocean Pines, MD 21811.
