Daniel Edward Tracy, 83, of Gumboro, Del., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019. He was born in Woodlawn, Md., to the late George H. Tracy and Elva Whitehead Tracy.
Tracy worked as a machinist for NCR and later was the owner/operator of the Gumboro Store from 1973 to the mid-1980s. He was a member of the Gumboro Fire Company, Selbyville Elks Lodge, Laurel American Legion and the Burnt Swamp Sportsman Association.
He was a straightforward type of person. You always knew where you stood with him. He enjoyed day trips, collecting miniature model race cars and antique cars, and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed dearly.
Tracy is survived by his beloved wife of 18 years, Clara Mae Evans of Gumboro; 10 children, Ruth Ann Gran of Ocean City, Md., Danny Tracy Jr. and his wife, Joan, of Ocean View, Del., Joan White and her husband, Michael, of Millsboro, Del., Bryan Tracy and his wife, Teresa, of Gumboro, Les Evans and his wife, Vicky, of Dagsboro, Del., Terri Dukes and her husband, Eddie, of Georgetown, Del., Ricky Mullins of Gumboro, Davis Evans and his wife, Cheryl, of Millsboro, Donna Evans and her husband, Roger, of Ocean City, and Darlene Condon and her husband, Ralph, of Bethel, Del.; his twin sister, Janet Betts of Arbutus, Md.; 30 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service was to be held Feb. 18, 2019, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del. Interment was to follow in the Bethel Cemetery in Willards, Md., with the Rev. Chuck Reynolds officiating.
