DMHOA is here to help

Editor:

If you live in manufactured housing on leased land, the Delaware Manufactured Home Owners Association (DMHOA) is here to help you.

Land/community owners have been increasing the land rent for homeowners that, in many cases, exceeds the rent justification statute. DMHOA is working with the Delaware Legislature to help fight this abuse of power by providing access to legal assistance to homeowners at no cost.

The money to pay for this legal assistance would come from the homeowners’ fees already paid to the Delaware Manufactured Home Relocation Trust Fund each month. This legal assistance program is included in House Bill 46, now in the Delaware Legislature.

For manufactured homeowners living on fixed incomes (seniors, disabled, veterans) and those that cannot afford to take on well-financed land/community owners’ unfair financial practices, House Bill 46 is the answer.

DMHOA is working hard to make this common-sense solution a reality, but we need every Delaware resident to help us. On behalf of all of us in this situation, we are asking you to contact your State House Representative and Senator and urge them to co-sponsor and support House Bill 46.
