Dawn Elizabeth White, 79, of Millville, Del., formerly of Baltimore, Md., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at Renaissance Healthcare, Millsboro, Del., surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Concord, N.C., on March 4, 1939, daughter of the late Wade P. Ferguson Sr. and the late Alice M. (Williams) Ferguson.
She worked in the banking industry in the Millsboro, Del., area before her retirement. In her free time, White enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, making arts and crafts, and completing DIY projects. Most recently, she enjoyed participating in all the activities at Renaissance, as well as being the president of the Resident Council. Her family brought her the most joy, especially spending time with her two grandsons.
White is survived by a son, Christopher White of Sedalia, Colo.; a daughter, Jennifer Whaley and her husband, Joseph, of Ocean View, Del.; two grandsons, Justin and Jason; a brother, Wade Ferguson Jr. and his wife, Marie Elaine, also of Ocean View; a niece, Lauren Kozlowski and her husband, Peter, of Hoover, Ala., and their two children, Tre and Andrew; and her nieces and nephews from her previous marriage to the late William White.
The family expressed their deepest appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Renaissance Healthcare for the love and support that they have provided to White and her family for the last several years. They also thanked her friends at Renaissance and their families for all their love and friendship.
A visitation was to be held Feb. 27, 2019, at Melson Funeral Services, Frankford, Del., followed by a prayer service on Feb. 28, 2019. Interment was to be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, Del. Condolences may be sent online at www.melsonfuneralservices.com.
