Selbyville again chooses incumbents in rare election

The Selbyville Town Council will remain the same for another two years. In the 2019 election, residents chose the two incumbent council members to continue their service to the town.

To keep their town council seats, G. Frank Smith III and Clarence W. “Bud” Tingle Jr. collected 60 and 53 votes, respectively. The challenger, William A. ìBillî Thompson tallied 17 votes.

Mayor Clifton C. Murray will also keep his seat, as he was unchallenged to continue leading the town.

The winners will be sworn in on March 11 for new two-year terms.

A total of 71 people cast a total of 130 votes in the March 2 election, with each permitted up to two choices for the two available council seats.
