Finally, Pierce was employed as a butcher for over 20 years at Hocker’s Super Center in Ocean View. He enjoyed his time working with George and Brian, and was friends with all of his co-workers at Hocker’s.
In addition to his parents, Pierce was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Pierce, and their three children, Deborah “Tunie” Miller and her husband, Harry, Andrea Lowe and her husband, Roy, and Andrew Pierce Jr. and his fiancée, Crystal; his sister, Dorothea Macholl; seven grandchildren, Nicole Pierce, Korin Pierce, Harry Miller Jr., Colby Lowe, Thorn Lowe, Diamond Mahan and Cayla Marine; a great-grandchild, Nicole “Tink” Cautillo; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom he dearly loved.
A memorial service is planned for March 16, 2019, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street in Millsboro, Del., at 7 p.m., where friends may visit from 6 to 7 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that, in his memory, people “pay it forward” by performing a good deed, helping someone in need, or showing a meaningful act of kindness to even an unsuspecting stranger. In doing so, the positive impact will make a difference in the world, as his life on earth has made, they said. Condolences may be sent online at www.watsonfh.com.
