Nettie Wootten Ellingsworth, 90, of Georgetown, Del., passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2019. She was born in Whitesville, Del., to the late Herman S. Wootten and Carrie Scott Wootten.
She retired from work for Diamond State Telephone and also the State of Delaware, where she worked as a switchboard operator. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Georgetown. She enjoyed caring for her cats, her yard and home. She liked everything kept neat and tidy.
In addition to her parents, Ellingsworth was also preceded in death by her husband, William Ellingsworth, in 2012; her siblings, Hilda Wootten Smith, Denver Wootten and Linford Wootten; and her darling feline friend Lucky. She is survived by a son, Gerald Ellingsworth of Georgetown, and four “grand-cats,” Kit Kat, Kitty, Jeff and Barney.
A funeral service was to be held April 11, 2019, at the Watson Funeral Home, with burial at Millsboro Cemetery, both in Millsboro, Del.
