Richard “Rick” Allen Lewis, 69, of Dagsboro, Del., passed away with his family by his side on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at the Delaware Hospice Center.
He was born June 23, 1949, in Lewes, Del., to the late Henry and Hilda Truitt Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Ricky Lewis. and a sister, Sheryl Murray.
He retired from Suburban Propane as a service technician after 37 years of employment. Lewis was a “stay at home, farm boy kind of guy.” He loved camping, fishing, hunting and watching Netflix. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Ruth Lewis of Dagsboro; his children, Stacey Colegrove and her husband, Alan, of Millsboro, Del., Albert Baker III and his wife, Chrissy, of Lovettsville, Va., Amy Smith and her husband, Roger, of Dagsboro, Andrea Purnell of Dagsboro and Cassie Jensen of Dagsboro; three siblings, Doug Lewis and his wife, Eleanor, of Dagsboro, Marshall Lewis and his wife, Sheryl, of Frankford, Del., and Connie Hall and her husband, Vernon, of Millsboro, Del.; 10 grandchildren, Courtney, Drew, Shauntel, Megan, Camryn, Garrett, Will, Jill, Ryder and Peyton; one great-grandson on the way, Ziyon; two special friends, Joe Ribinsky and Vernon Rickards; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who are sure to miss him.
A funeral service was held April 22, 2019, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Del., with burial at the Millsboro Cemetery.
