Lillian “Lil” E. Sneddon, 83, of Frankford, Del., formerly of West Deptford, N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
She was born Oct. 4, 1935, in Philadelphia, Pa., daughter of the late William and Rose (Frake) Roney. She graduated from Bartram High School in Philadelphia and attended Drexel and Gloucester Community College.
Sneddon and her husband owned and operated Evesham Business Supply & Printing Company in Deptford, N.J., before retiring in 1995. They permanently moved to Frankford in 1998 and became heavily involved in the community.
She was a member of almost every committee at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church in Ocean View, Del. She volunteered countless hours on the Finance Committee and also joined Women of the Word. Sneddon also enjoyed bowling and was a talented oil painter. She had a giving heart and loved helping people. Sneddon loved being around her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, John Dougherty and George McBride Sneddon II, and two brothers, William and Thomas Roney. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George McBride Sneddon; two daughters, Linda Molineaux and her husband, Benjamin, of Frankford and Dianne Sneddon-Wilson of Frankford; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held April 24, 2019, at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church, Ocean View, Del. Interment will be held at a later date in the adjoining church cemetery.
