Friends of The Millsboro Library want your books

Yes, it’s that time of the year.  The Friends of The Millsboro Library are starting to organize their July book sale — the best book sale of the summer, according to organizers.

The Friends spend months sorting donations so that during the sale books are organized and easy to browse.

The annual book sale is the Friend’s major fund raiser — the profits being used primarily for the children’s summer reading program. Other items not part of the library’s budget are often funded by the Friends Group. New board books were recently purchased for the children’s room and the rest rooms were updated to include baby changing stations.

Since this is the 25th anniversary of the Friends group, they are hoping to have a very special book sale.  They encourage donors to gather those books they have already read. Any books will be accepted: hardback fiction, nonfiction, paperbacks and children’s books.  Drop these off at the library at 219 State Street during regular library hours.  The library is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1p.m. They cannot accept Reader’s Digest condensed books, encyclopedias, text books or magazines.

Bring us any gently used books until early July and watch for sale dates to be announced soon.
