The Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare will once again host its babysitting course this summer. The one-day course is designed to teach teens the characteristics and qualities of a good sitter, about child development and age-appropriate activities, safe home practices, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The classes are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., for teens 12 to 15. The cost is $50 per participant, and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Each participant should bring a bagged lunch. Juice and snacks will be provided.
Classes are available June 25, June 27, July 9 and July 10. They are being held at the School of Nursing, which is directly behind Beebe’s Lewes campus. To best access the school this summer, amid construction, representatives said, visitors should take Savannah Road to 4th Street and turn left, then at the stop sign at Bethel church, turn left, following the road to the school (on the right). Those dropping off and picking up participants should use the cul-de-sac.
Registration is available online at www.beebemedicalfoundation.org/mhrson-baby-sitter-program.
