As noted in the Coastal Point pages, the upcoming May 25 election in South Bethany is an important event. I am writing to encourage voters to favorably consider Dick Oliver for a position on the town council.
Dick is a permanent resident and long-term property owner who has been active in the community for decades. He has served as chairman of South Bethany’s Planning Commission for seven years, is heavily involved in the Citizens Water Quality Management Program, is the Secretary of the South Coastal Library, and he and his wife, Margaret, have served the Neighborhood Watch program for many years.
I have known Dick as an energetic, concerned citizen of South Bethany. He has vast business experience as a human-resource manager (30 years) with the federal government, and more recently as a business owner. His service to the community leading the development of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan has made him acutely aware of the Town’s needs and finances.
In my view, there is no better candidate for our town council, and I recommend him to all South Bethany voters without reservation.
